I started this company after seeing a need in cycling landscape for a tailored emergency snake bite bike pack for mountain and gravel riders.

For me carrying a snake bite bandage had always been an afterthought, the first thing that would be left at home or the car when I headed out to the trails. Spring in Melbourne is tiger snake time where the local trails become active hunting grounds for these slippery critters. Carrying a snake bite bandage becomes mandatory at this time of year.

From this simple thought process Wiggle Sticks was born.

Manufacturing 
Spending enough times in bikes shops I have seen the volume of punctured inner tubes that were sent to landfill each week so decided to see if I could turn them into bags that can hold snake bite bandages. This also involved learning to sew, and working with the used bike tubes, rubber is a tricky material to sew but after a number of prototypes I managed to make it happen.

The pouch’s themselves are unique. The used tubes that make up a pouch combine to become an interesting aesthetic that just happens to hold a bandage. The pouches are held to the top tube with a rubber strap using reclaimed velcro from bicycle packaging. The velcro was originally used to hold all the new pieces of your bike in the bike box on its way from the factory to your local bike store. Normally it would just go into landfill.

Being new to sewing please don’t expect perfect stitching, as time goes on I am refining my sewing skills but there will no doubt be a missed stitch or two along the way. I offer a free repair or replace warranty on all the pouches I make, so please get in touch if your pouch needs a touch up.
